What an anomaly. Surely, some managers and businesses abuse the willingness of the Diplodocus to work so much for so little. Aren't they actually oppressed in some ways? Do the Avimimuses not have true cause to fight for rights? Much labor poses a physical risk to the laborer. I'm unaware of precisely what is involved in the manual workforce of the dinosaur era, but I would think that it would be not too far removed from today.

Also, can it conjure up materials for others out of thin air? Or just to satisfy their own needs?

Considering the apparent abundance of Diplodocuses and their willingness to work, does this not skew the economy in some possibly truly damaging ways?

Just because they're invisible, there is no physical risk? Do they not retain bodies? Wouldn't those bodies still be susceptible to damage? And why didn't you mention that they were invisible before? Is their invisibility something they can turn off and on? I'm actually almost skeptical on that one.

What I meant by skewing the economy was more on the order of flooding the market with Diplodocuses. Is there anyone else working the physical labor field? Does this not leave disproportionate amounts of unemployment for other dinosaurs? Or is it balanced somehow? Because if the man (or the dinosaur-era equivalent of "the man") can pay one Diplodocus for one day's work, which we'll assume is the same amount of work three other laborers would preform, for a third of the cost of another worker's day, then the man is receiving 12 times the amount of work for his dollar. In that case, lobbying for Diplodocus rights is really lobbying for equality and rights for all. I must side with the Avimimus on this one.

Dinosaur Joe,

Although I respect you very much, there was clearly no real critique of ideology in the age of dinosaurs.

Just because somebody happens to "like" something, that doesn't make it not oppressive.

This, for example, is a common defense of the sex industry. If a prostitute happens to "like" her work does this change its essentially oppressive nature?

Or, to use an example from consumption: If Homer Simpson happens to prefer Duff Beer to a fine bottle of Bourdeaux wine from one of the Gran Cru estates, does this change the injustice of a world which allocates goods and luxuries in such an unjust way? No, because this stunted aesthetic is itself the result of an ideology which assigns productive and consumptive desires to an individual on the basis of class (or in the case of dinosaurs, species apparently).

The only question is whether the diplodocus is alienated from the product of his or her labor.

Tell the diplodocus to read Marx.
