I find the friendship between the Vulcanodon and the Velociraptor to be inspiring and assuring. Despite their obvious difference in size and (I'd imagine) diet, they still find enough in common to be chummy. And they use this friendship to benefit all of dinosaurkind. It's like a David and Goliath story. But instead of a duel to the death, David and Goliath share a picnic basket. And cheesecake.

:What came first, the volcano or the vulcanadon?
This is like the age old question, "Which came first, the chicken or the egg" except that everyone knows that the egg comes first, because chickens don't lay their own eggs. On the other hand, nobody really know whether volcanos or vulcanadons come first, because we don't know where vulcanadons come from.

I capitalize my name, thank you very much. Why does this foolish thing refuse to recognize my attention to grammar.

And by grammar I mean punctuation, and by period at the end of my sentence I mean question mark at the end of my sentence.

Alas, my name is capitalized as well. On the comments page, it refuses to acknowledge capitalization. On the permalink, though, the capitalization is intact.

Meanwhile, we may not know where Vulcanadons come from, but I'm sure that Dinosaur Joe does. Dinosaur Joe is the authority (not "expert," mind you) on dinosaurs. He loves them. He sees them in Tarpit and knows all about them.

Welcome, the Jar.

I AM NOT SURE BUT I THINK THE VULCANODON CAME FIRST!!! THIS IS WHAT I THINK HAPPENED. THE VULCANODON CAME ON ASTEROIDS FROM THE RED PLANET!!!! THEY THEN MET THE VELOCIRAPTOR AND BECAME FRIENDS WITH THEM!!!!! THEY WANTED A DESTRUCTIVE POWER OF THEIR OWN SO THEY USED THEIR MARTIAN POWERS TO MAKE MOUNTAINS EXPLODE WITH LAVA!!!!!!!11111!!!!!! THIS IS JUST A THEORY BUT ITS BETTER THAN WHATEVER THE EXPERTS THINK!!!!!

vulcanodon

Cold nova, unvocal no,
Dun cloud, a non-volcano,
Undo avon'd, unclad noon.
Vulcan-loud, con valvo, non-cud.

This has been an anagrammatic portrait of the Firecano.

Has anyone thought of the implications of the Vulcanodon being the thing which was the influence for both the Star Trek race and the greek God?
